How long does it take for a direct debit to be set up?
Due to standard banking procedures Direct Debits may take up to 10 working days to set up. Please note that the funds will always take at least 3 working days to clear once a Direct Debit request has been initiated.
How long do debit card payments take to clear?
When submitting a payment with a credit card or debit card, it may take two to three business days to clear your bank or credit account. Card transactions are instantly authorized so funds will be instantly pending for your transaction.
What happens if there is not enough money for direct debit?
What happens if I don’t have enough money in my account to cover the direct debit? If there is not enough money in your bank account to cover a direct debit payment, and you do not have an authorised overdraft facility, your account provider may refuse to pay the bill and issue you with a penalty charge.
